The Ohio Latino Awards (OLA) represent the most popular distinction given by the Hispanic community of Ohio to the organizations and personalities that have contributed to the development of the Hispanic community in the United States.
The awards are given every year in a public ceremony that features leaders of the Hispanic community, the honorees, and organizations related to the Hispanic community in Ohio and the United States.
The OLA are sponsored by the newspaper El Sol de Ohio, the Hispanic press leader in the state, which consults with Ohio’s Hispanic community for the selection of the honorees. Readers make their selection on a ballot published in the newspaper.
